Wealth Redefined: Why We Traded the "Fast Track" for the Club (Living Richly)
A few of our members wearing their Live Richly and other Body Haus Lifestyle Club and Company gear.
There is a specific kind of "rich" that the modern world tries to sell us. It’s the high-velocity, high-stress, "always-on" lifestyle of the executive ladder. For years, I (Matt) was on that track. I was building companies, managing large-scale operations, and overseeing millions in revenue. I was a "Director" by title, navigating a world where success was measured by how many fires you could put out before noon and how many zeros were on the quarterly report.
On paper, we were winning. But behind the scenes, the "Fast Track" was taking its toll.
The Cost of a Disconnected Life
The deeper I got into the corporate grind, the more I noticed a profound disconnect. I was successful, but I wasn't well. My time wasn't my own, my movement was neglected, and my spirit was stagnant. I woke up one day and realized that while the business was growing, my personal life was being harvested.
Meanwhile, my wife Natalie was quietly cultivating a different kind of power. While I was in the trenches of high-stakes business, she was deep in the tradition of yoga and Pilates. She was training under the most respected teachers in California, learning a fundamental truth: True wealth isn't found in what you manage, but in how you master yourself.
She was finding a clarity that I was losing in the noise.
The Radical Choice
We made a decision that confused almost everyone we knew: we walked away.
We left the executive status and the high-pressure environment of the West Coast to return to our roots in the Midwest. We traded the complexity of a high-growth career for the simplicity of a farm and a single yoga studio.
Some people called it a step back. We called it a refinement.
We realized that "living richly" isn't about how much territory you can conquer in the business world; it’s about how much Sophistication and Purpose you can bring to your daily existence. We traded the "Fast Track" for the yoga mat because the mat demands your presence, your breath, and your integrity. It doesn't care about your title; it cares about your alignment.
Building the "Third Space"
This transition was the seed of Body Haus Lifestyle Club. My background in business, understanding systems, scale, and excellence, merged with Natalie’s mastery of movement. We realized that the world didn't need another gym; it needed a sanctuary for people who were tired of the "hustle" but still wanted to achieve peak performance.
We took the lessons of the high-stakes world and applied them to wellness. We wanted to create a space that offered:
Efficiency: (High-impact Pilates and recovery)
Hospitality: (The care and attention of a luxury club)
Community: (The "village" feel we found in our travels)
We didn't set out to build an empire; we set out to fix what felt broken in the way we were living. We traded a life of "busy-ness" for a life of substance.
